Not You Average BaLL...

The Costume Institute held its annual MET Costume Ball at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City last week Monday. This years exhibition, “Model as Muse: Embodying Fashion” focused on the importance of the model to fashion. The event brought out the likes of ALL types of celebrities from Rihanna to Liv Tyler and Renee Zellweger. Some of the well known fashion designers whose lines were represented that night included, Marc Jacobs, Versace, Karl Lagerfeld and many more.

This years gala garnered many exceptional looks of art. Long Gowns, Big and very structured Jackets, in deep and bright colors were like moving works of art. The Spring 2009 exhibition is arguably the best show of fashion to date.

I like the idea of celebrating fashion and all of the people who work so hard to make it a major staple in everyday popular life. I think recognizing the models who wear the clothes oh so well was well needed. There would be no way to sell the beautiful creations without the beautiful people to wear them.
