Donatella No Longer an Internet Virgin...

Over a year ago Donatella Versace told a reporter "I don't do the Internet but I can do it through my team." She didn't see the sense of doing it herself so would allow her team to do it. She's come a long way in fourteen months, evidenced by her first-ever blog post on the Huffington Post this morning about her experience at Saturday's White House Correspondents' Dinner. We can now welcome Donatella! to the blogging world. She begins, "This is my first ever blog, so forgive me if I make any 'blogosphere faux pas." Donatella, whose spring 2009 men's collection was inspired by "the type of man Barack Obama represents," noticed those in attendance at this dinner weren't glued to their Blackberry's — a "pet hate" of hers. "Its obvious to me that this is a President people want to listen to because what he says is interesting".

It is great to see older designers trying to get to know the Internet. I think it is important for them to get to know it and leave up to their "team" as Donatella once did. What happens if one day the team is not their this is the Internet generation so it is a must to know something about the internet to I congratulate her on breaking her blogging virginity.
